ENDO Operation: Structured Steps Before Downstream Disinfection
In routine use, ENDO organizes pre-treatment for flexible endoscopes into a defined sequence that prepares channels for the next high-level disinfection stage. The process can be described as:
- Leak check before the scope enters any fluid handling. If it does not pass, the procedure is stopped to prevent internal damage.
- First flush across channels using detergent and defined exposure conditions to reduce initial soil load and clean biofilm.
- Brushing is video recorded to evidence completion while supporting effective debris removal with reduced scratch risk.
- Final clearance flush removes loosened residues and leaves channels ready for the next disinfection stage.
